The 5 Best Affordable Products to Keep your Kitchen Organized
I’ve been transforming spaces as a professional organizer now for 2 1/2 years and with that I’ve developed deep knowledge of organizing products. I tend to keep going back to the tried and true products that work well in most spaces. I wanted to share with you my favorite budget friendly kitchen organization products. Try out one of these kitchen cabinet organizers to instantly bring order to your space!
The Turntable
Seriously the turntable is a workhorse! It is perfect in a pantry or inside of a cabinet for things like oils/vinegars, condiments, medicine, spices, cleaning supplies, the list could go on. It is a great product to use in upper cabinet shelves so products don’t get lost in the back. Make sure to measure the width/depth of your cabinet as you will find turntables in various sizes from 9” to 18”. They also come in various materials and colors available at Container Store, Target, Amazon, and HomeGoods. I recommend turntables with “sides” if the contents are more fragile and not on a solid surface (like wire shelves). Two level turntables are great to use for small spices or pill bottles.
The Handy Basket
The Handy Basket from Container Store is an inexpensive option to corral items on upper shelves of cabinets (the extended handle makes it really easy to grab the basket) or for products that need to be “carried” together from a place of storage to a counter. For example I have used the handy basket to store medicine in a kitchen cabinet so that the basket can easily be pulled down with the handle and taken over to the sink. The Handy Basket is available in two sizes and has so many uses even outside of the kitchen.
The Drawer Dividers
Drawer dividers are a quick way to bring order to a kitchen drawer to categorize cooking utensils or prep tools. Use a drawer divider to separate your spatulas from your whisks for example or your bbq tools from the can opener. My favorite drawer dividers are from SpaceAid available on Amazon. SpaceAid makes a version that comes with inserts so you can easily customize the drawer to fit its contents without buying lots of little trays. Check that your drawer height is at least 2.5” and also check the depth of your drawer as the dividers come in two different lengths.
The Tiered Can Shelf
The Large Expand-A-Shelf from Container Store is a product I use in almost every pantry I organize. It can expand up to 25 inches wide and each “level” is deep enough to hold large cans. The three tiers makes it easy to see and access the cans in your pantry. Check to make sure the depth of the product (11 5/8”) will fit in your pantry.
The Slotted Rack
The Maple Rack from the Container Store or its wire friend the 4-Sort Wire Divider are perfect to use in cabinets to store cutting boards, baking sheets, muffin pans, and other trays. Storing them upright allows you to quickly pull out to use and put away. They are also great to keep pot lids upright or display nicer plates. It is best if you use in a lower cabinet that is wide and deep enough so that the product is placed horizontally in a cabinet. The YouCopia Expandable Cookware rack is another great product with adjustable dividers to store pans & skillets, expanding up to 22” wide.
Hopefully one of these top organizing products can help get your kitchen organized!
